Accreditation and Training

Workplace Standards Tasmania is responsible for the accreditation of trainers and approval of training courses under the following Acts.

Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995:

• Accrediting training providers and approving Employees’ Safety Representative training courses
• Accrediting (registering) assessors of competencies of operators/users of specified plant and equipment for the granting of statutory certificates of competency
• Accrediting (registering) inspectors (registered plant inspectors) of higher hazardous plant

Dangerous Goods Act 1998:

• Accrediting training providers and approving shot-firer training courses
• Accrediting training providers and approving dangerous goods bulk driver training courses
