Plant registration
Specified items of plant will require design registration and plant item registration records to be kept and maintained in Tasmania according to schedules 7, 8 & 9 of the Workplace Health & Safety Regulations 1998. Below you will find information on what type of plant fits into these schedules, the registration requirements and application forms.

Change of ownership, relocation or alteration to plant
Workplace Standards Tasmania must be advised within 21 days of any change of ownership, relocation or alteration to any registered plant on the appropriate form (PRF6).
Registration will become invalid if the plant is substantially altered to the extent where it requires new measures to control any risk.
In the case of normally fixed plant that has been relocated, it will require re-commissioning, inspection by a Registered plant Inspector and re-registration with Workplace Standards Tasmania.

Notice of disposal, removal from service or decommissioning of plant
Workplace Standards Tasmania must be advised within 21 days of any disposal, removal from service or decommissioning to any registered plant on the appropriate form (PRF5).
If the plant is re-commissioned or put back into service, it will require inspection by a Registered Plant Inspector and re-registration with Workplace Standards Tasmania.
