Plant and equipment

Many industries use hazardous plant and industrial equipment. There are regulations regarding licensing, registration and inspection. These apply to designers, manufacturers, importers, owners and employers.

High hazardous plant includes

  • lifts, for example passenger lifts in office buildings,
  • moving walkways in shopping centres,
  • boilers and other types of pressure equipment,
  • amusement rides and devices seen at agricultural shows and regattas,
  • certain types and capacity cranes and hoists,
  • boom-type elevating work platforms, and
  • vehicle hoists.
