Auto gas Installer's Registration

Details:

This authorisation is required by persons intending to install, alter, repair, test or commission automotive LPG systems in vehicles. Applicants must be a qualified motor or diesel mechanic and have satisfactorily completed an approved course on automotive LPG fuel system conversion.

This Authorisation is mandated under the Dangerous Goods Act 1998.

  • Lodgement Documents: Application form (including certification of satisfactory completion of an approved course on automotive LPG fuel system conversion & Trade Indentures as a Motor or Diesel Mechanic)
  • Mutual recognition of occupational licences

From February 2007, new arrangements have been put in place making it easier for licensed tradespeople, and authorities that issue licences, to know what licence a worker is entitled to when applying for a licence in another jurisdiction. Use link above for more information on mutual recognition.
