Workplace Standards Tasmania administers 3 sets of legislation that govern the safe control of fireworks in Tasmania.

Important notes to potential applicants for Type 2 Displays

1. Type 2 fireworks (shopgood fireworks – AS2197.3) have a significantly lower 'performance range' than Type 3 fireworks (professional display), e.g. Type 2 fireworks have a maximum height of 3 metres for ground devices.
2. To avoid disappointment, before submitting your fireworks permit application and fees you should first ensure your supply of fireworks has been confirmed by your nominated supplier.
