Shot-firer permit application process

The forms below are required to be completed and submitted through any Service Tasmania shop with the required fee.

Once the application has been forwarded to Workplace Standards the following will occur.

  • assessment of background checks
  • clearance letter will be sent to applicants
  • new applicants will need to attend a shot-firer course
  • attend a Service Tasmania shop for photo ID
  • receive a shot-firer permit card
  • interview may be required to ensure appropriate endorsements on permits

For new applicants background checks will remain valid for 6 months. Training should take place during this time.
