Some information held by Workplace Standards Tasmania is not available through an application for assessed disclosure as it may be purchased in accordance with the Workplace Standards Tasmania Information Disclosure Policy.

This category of information may include

  • Investigation reports where no information requires exemption
  • Investigation reports where only personal information requires exemption (pursuant to Personal Information Protection Act 2004)
Information in relation to accidents, incidents, building and complaints investigations are not available until the investigation is complete as per the Workplaces Standards Tasmania Information Disclosure Policy.

Cost

The cost of release of this information is calculated in accordance with the Workplace Standards Tasmania fee structure, which is based on the cost for research time, materials etc and will be invoiced after the provision of the information. The fees are

  • $35.00 search fee, plus 
  • $35.00 per hour (or part thereof), plus 
  • $11.00 per CD or $0.22 per photocopied page
  • All charges include GST

A request for this category of information must be in writing via mail, email or fax.

Some information is not released in this way, either because it is not of general public interest or because it is information Workplace Standards Tasmania would need to assess against the exemptions in the Right to Information Act 2009 prior to disclosure (Assessed Disclosure). You will be advised at the time your request is processed if exemptions under the Right to Information Act 2009 apply. If this is the case, an Application for Assessed Disclosure form will be forwarded for your completion and return along with the $35.00 fee.
