Disclosure Policy

There are a variety of documents and reports available for purchase through the Agency. The Workplace Standards Tasmania Disclosure Policy covers requests for information in relation to routine information held by the Agency including dangerous substances site information and workers compensation claims history.

The policy was implemented by Workplace Standards Tasmania (WST) in 1996, enabling the streamlining of the release of information and the recovery of costs associated with the provision of reports.

Routine Information

Workers Compensation Requests

Workers compensation claims history requests must be accompanied by a signed authority from the individual concerned

Dangerous Substances Sites

Upon request, basic information relating to a dangerous substances facility may be provided by WST.

Typically this type of request will be from an employee, new owner or a legal representative requiring information on an existing facility to assist in site alterations or a transaction to purchase.

Matters such as

  • confirming the location of an underground tank and/or associated pipes
  • obtaining the most recent copy of a site plan/map or manifest of dangerous goods/substances on site

WST may provide this information providing permission has been obtained from the present owner/occupier by using the Authority Request Form below. The person requesting the information should also provide identity (eg. current driver's licence) to WST.

If the officer from WST is satisfied with the intent of the request they may provide a copy of the site map/plan and manifest.

If supervised viewing of a file or requests for historical searches of more detailed or complex matters (eg. past incidents, general correspondence) are required, please view the FOI (Freedom of Information) processes.
