For a number of reasons, such as the fact that the systems are no longer marketed in Tasmania, or are no longer manufactured, or the technology has changed, the following plumbing and drainage systems are no longer accredited for use in a new installation in Tasmania under the Certificate of Accreditation shown on this list. The documents listed are retained here for reference purposes only in relation to existing installations. Please note that systems already installed and in use are not made invalid by this. However, they must continue to be properly maintained and serviced in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Any relevant conditions that were detailed on the Certificate of Accreditation that was current at the time continue to apply, and any conditions that were imposed on the owner/user by the Permit Authority (local council) at the time of installation must also continue to be met.
Please also be aware that a new application for accreditation in Tasmania may be made by the supplier of any system. A current Certificate of Accreditation will show the date of issue and the period of validity, usually up to five years from the date of issue. If you are in any doubt as to the current accreditation status of a system you are advised to contact Building Control Branch, Workplace Standards Tasmania. Please refer to the following webpage for more information about on-site waste water systems:

NOTES: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
(1) Biolytix Australia companies were placed into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation on the 19th January 2011. Therefore, Biolytix Australia is no longer in a position to directly service the BF6 on-site waste water systems in Tasmania. Any owner who has been issued with a Special Plumbing Permit (SPP) by the Permit Authority (local council) which shows Biolytix as the authorised person to carry out servicing of the BF6 may need to enter into a contract with another servicing contractor/plumber to carry out the required monitoring and maintenance of the system and to enter in an agreement with the council to maintain a contract (see clause 1.13 and 1.14 of the Certificate of Accreditation).
For further information that may assist permit holders or applicants for permits to install BF6 systems please refer to the following link:
www.lawlerpartners.com.au/creditor_reports/biolytix_group_of_companies/faqs
(2) Lawler Partners have advised they are in the process of finding alternative suppliers/installers and that customers will be notified if this is successful. In the meantime if your system requires urgent attention it is suggested that you contact your local council (Permit Authority) who may be able to give advice about suitably qualified plumbers in your area. Your local council should also be contacted to ascertain if an audible alarm rather than a monitored alarm would meet their requirements under the Special Plumbing Permit (SPP).
