Plumbing Regulation Advisory Notes
These notes are issued to provide in-depth advice on a variety of topics relating to industry. They help plumbing industry stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the subject matter with a view to improving safety and ensuring conformance. Where appropriate, they may also assist in the clarification and interpretation of parts of the Building Act, the Plumbing Regulations, the Tasmanian Plumbing Code and the Plumbing Code of Australia, and any other associated codes and standards.
Authorised Plumbing Products and Accredited Plumbing & Drainage Systems
All plumbing or drainage installation within Tasmania must be constructed in a proper and workmanlike manner to achieve the required level of performance, using materials that are not faulty or unsuitable for the purpose for which they are intended and authorised plumbing products or accredited plumbing systems.

Tasmanian Plumbing Code (TPC) and Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA)
The Tasmanian Plumbing Code (TPC) contains performance based technical provisions for the design and construction of plumbing installations. The Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) is produced by the National Plumbing Regulators Forum (NPRF).
Forms and Regulatory Documents
These forms are used for making applications, providing notifications, giving directions, issuing certificates and notices, making requests for reports. The regulatory documents include Director of Building Control Specifications and Determinations made under the Building Act 2000.
