Standard gas installation standards

Standard gas installation standards apply to both gasfitters and consumers.

  • AS 5601 Gas installations

Sets out requirements for consumer piping, flueing, ventilation and appliance installations which are associated with the use or intended use of fuel gases such as Town gas, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the Vapour Phase, Natural gas (NG), Tempered Liquefied Petroleum Gas (TLPG), Simulated Natural Gas (SNG) or any similar substance.

  • Consumer Installations with MAOP above 200kPa

For details of required standards for design and construction of consumer installations with a maximum allowable operating pressure above 200 kPa, the licenced Gasfitter undertaking the "gas fitting work" must first contact Workplace Standards Tasmania.
