Purchasing gas appliances on internet auction sites

There are inherent dangers associated with the purchase of gas appliances via the above method, this also includes misleading and sometimes unsafe information regarding the installation of these appliances.

Always remember the following legal requirements:

• Only buy gas appliances that have been approved by the Director of Gas Safety i.e. approved by the AGA (Australian Gas Association) or SAI Global
• These approved appliances, must be installed by a licensed gasfitter in accordance with Australian Standards.
