Contractor's Licence Responsiblities

Licensed Contractor

Responsible for management of the business in relation to the licence.

Nominated Manager (a practitioner)

Responsible for ensuring that technical requirements are met by providing the correct skills and resources to carry out the work safely and to appropriate standards.

Supervisor

Responsible to the nominated manager for the correct supervision of work as directed and for practitioners under their control.

Practitioner

Responsible for the prescribed work carried out by themselves as well as apprentices and trainees under supervision to ensure that the work is performed safely and to appropriate standards.

Signatory

Authorised by the nominated manager for signing certificates of compliance. Not necessarily a licensed person but one who is in a senior position with specific approval from management.

Limited in number and only after Workplace Standards Tasmania approval.

A signatory is the exception, rather than the rule.
