Section 26 of the Occupational Licensing Act 2005 outlines the obligations of contractors to ensure that the electrical contractor’s business is properly managed. The nominated manager is responsible for all electrical work carried out by the company. A person is eligible to be a nominated manager if the person
(a) is the holder of an electrician’s licence, in accordance with the Occupational Licensing (Electrical Work) Determination 2008
(b) has completed 12 months’ practical experience following the issuing of an electrician’s licence and
(c) has completed the modules and units of competence set down in the Occupational Licensing (Nominated Manager - Approved Course of Training) Notification 2008, or an equivalent approved by the Administrator, or
(d) has been a nominated manager of an electrical contractor’s business, within the last three years or
(e) currently holds an equivalent interstate qualification, i.e. an equivalent licence.
