Occupational Licensing General Insurance Notice 2008
Guidance note (May 2009)
Occupational Licensing (Electrical Infrastructure) Insurance Notice 2009 (June 2009)
If you are a contractor working on electrical infrastructure, there no longer is a requirement to have insurance to pay for the cost of rectifying any defective prescribed work where it has been performed on electrical infrastructure that is owned by an electricity entity. It is expected that this issue will be covered by contractual negotiations between the parties.
You will still need the other three forms of insurance as set out in the Occupational Licensing General Insurance Notice 2008 and you may need to increase your public liability insurance cover.
If circumstances change during the period of your policy, and you are working on projects that are not related to electrical infrastructure owned by an electricity entity, you will need to talk to your broker about your insurance cover so that you comply with the Occupational Licensing General Insurance Notice 2008.
