Induction training for the construction industry

All Australian States and Territories are moving towards a uniform approach to occupational health and safety. A National Work Health and Safety Act has been drafted and is planned for implementation in the next 12 months.

As part of this process, on the 19 August 2009, a Code of Practice - Induction for Construction Work was gazetted and approved for use in Tasmania. This Code sets out the requirements and timeframes for induction training for the construction industry and also calls up the National Code of Practice which aligns with the National OHS Strategy 2002-2012.
