Approved forms
Legislation provides for certain matters to be done in the approved form such as
- giving directions
- issuing certificates and notices
- making requests for reports
These forms are approved by the Director of Building Control appointed under the Act.

Certificates of others (Form 59)
Permit authorities, building surveyors or general managers may rely on a certificate issued by a qualified person as prescribed by regulation. For example these may include acoustic, architectural design, electrical, hydraulic or mechanical building services and structural engineers as specified in the Director's Determinations.
