Accreditation application forms and guides

Prospective new applicants for accreditation should download all of the following documents:

The Recognition of Prior Learning Guide is for practitioners seeking to upgrade their accreditation.

Builders must complete the Financial Requirements form. This is not required for engineers, architects, building surveyors etc.

Mutual recognition

Building practitioners licensed or registered in another state can apply to be accredited under the Mutual Recognition Act. Anyone accredited to perform work in one state has the right to be accredited to perform the same sort of work in another state.

For example, a licensed Domestic Builder in New South Wales can apply to be accredited as a builder in Tasmania. However, they must still comply with local requirements including becoming accredited as a building practitioner in Tasmania, and comply with all Tasmanian laws such as the Building Act 2000.
